Getting healthy food to those who need it is another way Riverside Healthcare is caring for the communities it serves. Riverside Healthcare is partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide healthy food options for families in need and those with chronic medical conditions. The RX Mobile Food Pantry will be set up monthly from 3 to 5 p.m. at Youth For Christ City Life Center, located at 1820 E. Court Street in Kankakee.

The free, online System of Care Community Navigator training program helps participants learn more about Project SUN and how to assist families in identifying community resources/options to meet their needs. Attendees will learn to use the Kan-I Help database, particularly with regard to Kankakee County children's behavioral health services. AMITA Health St. Marys Hospital has teamed up with Northern Illinois Food Bank to host Mobile Food Pantries. Rx Mobile Pantries will provide FREE produce, milk, eggs and meat. Distribution is held at St. Rose Church Parking Lot on Merchant St. just south of the hospital's main entrance. AMITA is hosting RX Mobile events on the first Tuesday of each month through November 2021.
