Art Therapy

Art Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship. Art Therapy is used to improve cognitive and sensory-motor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change. Megan Boyle is a Licensed Art Therapist and Certified Equine Therapist through PATH Intl. Megan has been practicing for 5+ years with a variety of communities and populations ranging from survivors of violence to individuals living with brain injuries. Megan specializes in working alongside horses as collaborators in the healing process, utilizing ground work and textile art making to work through experiences of grief, depression, trauma, and anxiety.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy

Equine-facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) is an experiential form of psychotherapy that involves equines. PATH Intl. provides standards of professionalism and safety for people working in EFP. EFP is defined as an interactive process in which a licensed mental health professional working with or as an appropriately credentialed equine professional partners with suitable equine(s) to address psychotherapy goals set forth by the mental health professional and the client.

Therapeutic Riding

Research proves that Therapeutic riding is a valuable tool in treating many cognitive, emotional and physical challenges. Therapeutic riding includes those whose emotional well-being, mental health and learning abilities are severely challenged. Our instructor is fully certified with PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) formerly known as NAHRA (North American Handicap Riding Association).
