Services

Child Care

Licensed by DCFS serving children 6 weeks through 12 years. Infant, toddler, preschool and school-age care provided. DCFS foster care provided. Open 254 days per year. Facility is open 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Childcare subsidy is available to income eligible families. The YWCA is a part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. This location also utilizes the Creative Curriculum in all classrooms. Developmental Screenings are administered to all children birth to 5 years of age. The Kankakee YWCA is a certified Bronze Circle of Quality in ExceleRate Illinois.

Head Start Classroom

In collaboration with Kankakee School District #111, a Head Start Classroom is located in our building. This provides a full day Head Start program to children and families utilizing wrap around childcare services. Registration is through the Kankakee School District.

My Piece in the Puzzle

YWCA Kankakee is collaborating with Project SUN and "My Piece in the Puzzle" to provide diversity, equity and inclusion programming. Activities will include monthly movie/video screenings as well as the intensive 6-week sessions entitled "My Piece in the Puzzle."
