Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of Kankakee

Licensed by DCFS serving children 6 weeks through 12 years. Infant, toddler, preschool and school-age care provided. DCFS foster care provided. Open 254 days per year. Facility is open 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Child care subsidy is available to income eligible families. The YWCA is a part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. This location also utilizes the Creative Curriculum in all classrooms. Developmental Screenings are administered to all children birth to 5 years of age. The Kankakee YWCA is a certified Bronze Circle of Quality in ExceleRate Illinois.

In collaboration with Kankakee School District #111, a Head Start Classroom is located in our building. This provides a full day Head Start program to children and families utilizing wrap around child care services.
