Special Education & Support Services

The Kankakee Special Education Cooperative provides the following special education services to the area school districts requesting them: audiological services, vision itinerant and orientation/mobility services, deaf/hard of hearing itinerant services, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, transition programs, autism consultant services and staff development. KASEC also runs three different special education programs: Communications Program for students on the autism spectrum, the Alternative Day Program for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, and the Transition Program for young adults aged 17-22 which focuses on functional daily living and vocational/work skills.
