What better way to learn new skills and refine old ones! Learning by doing has been the philosophy of Camp Shaw-waw-nas-see for more than 75 years. Why have several generations of northern Illinois campers enjoyed the program and beauty of Camp Shaw? Camp Shaw-waw-nas-see maintains accreditation by the American Camping Association, following this industry standard's guidelines for providing a safe camping environment. While many 4-H members attend, 4-H membership is NOT a requirement. Summer camp gives the camper more than entertainment for a few days. The "learning by doing" philosophy translates into decision-making experiences, helps campers develop a greater sense of independence, responsibility and self-confidence and gain a greater appreciation for the natural environment.
