Child Care Resource Service

We assist families in the completing and processing of applications to apply for CCAP in order to pay for child care. Parents are required to pay a monthly copay based on their income.

Child Care Referrals - Provide referrals and information on choosing child care to families needing child care.Provider Training - Offer trainings and workshops based on providers needs and requests.

The CCRS offers the following services to parents and child care providers of Champaign, Vermilion, Macon, Douglas, Iroquois, and Piatt counties. Provides parents with child care referrals, information on evaluating quality child care, resources on various parenting issues, and assistance in paying for child care for income-eligible families. CCRS provides child care providers with access to valuable training based on evidence and best practices, support services for new or established programs, and access to funding opportunities. Child Care Resource Service also works to assess the needs of our community and promote quality child care and healthy families by providing educational events, mental health consultant, infant/toddler specialist, and a Spanish-speaking specialist.

CCRS offers several grants through IDHS to assist providers in program improvement, covering training costs, and purchasing items to improve the health and safety of their programs.

Assist in recruiting people into the field of early childhood education. They also help current and future students with finding scholarships, financial aid, etc. so that they can attend higher education.

Specialists at CCRS help child care providers improve the quality of their program. Specialists assist them with requirements on the state ExceleRate program.
